Tamil guerrillas overran a large army garrison in Sri Lanka early yesterday, killing 16 Sinhalese civilians and at least 23 soldiers in the biggest recent attack of their independence campaign, Reuter reports from Colombo. Military sources said some 200 Tamil Tigers attacked the Janakapura army camp with heavy mortar and small arms fire.
