China has engaged in a big military build-up in Tibet and conditions there are getting worse despite US pressure for respect for human rights, a watchdog group said, AFP reports from Washington.
'Today there are as many Chinese soldiers in Lhasa as there are Tibetans. Tibet, its people, and its unique culture are in grave jeopardy,' Lodi Gyari, president of the International Campaign for Tibet, said and added: 'If anything, the situation is getting worse.'
