Thirty-one Kurdish civilians were killed in two separate minibus attacks blamed on Kurdish rebels in southeast Turkey, Reuter reports from Diyarbakir. Five soldiers and four guerrillas were reported killed in separate incidents in the mainly Kurdish region.
A minibus travelling between Kayalar and Kayalipinar villages in Mardin province hit a landmine, killing 26 people. Five civilians were killed in the Mutki district of Bitlis province when their minibus came under fire from Kurdistan Workers Party guerrillas, officials said.
