At least 50 Kurdish rebels and three Turkish soldiers were reported killed yesterday in attacks on guerrilla mountain hideouts in east and south-east Turkey, Reuter reports from Ankara. The security forces have staged large-scale search and destroy operations against the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) since rebels shot dead 33 soldiers and two civilians last Monday.
