An official Syrian newspaper attacked the Vatican's recognition of Israel, which it called 'unholy', Reuter reports from Damascus. The Syria Times also accused the Vatican of 'exonerating' Jews from responsibility for the death of Jesus Christ and of 'approving' of Israel's occupation of Arab lands.
