Unita rebels launched a new assault on the besieged Angolan city of Cuito yesterday and hundreds of bodies were lying in the streets, Reuter reports from Luanda. Rebels had blocked some roads into Cuito and were preventing civilians from leaving in search of food, according to the official news agency, Angop.
