US air safety goes public

United States safety regulators said that starting next month they will make public a wide variety of new airline safety information so travellers can know if a carrier has a good safety record.

The action by the Federal Aviation Administration follows calls by Congress and consumer advocates, as well as the crash last May of ValuJet Flight 592 near Miami, killing all 110 people on board. Reuters - Washington
