US city barred from selling Monet
A US STATE judge has ruled that paintings including a Monet and Pissarros, bequeathed to the city of Lawrence, Massachusetts, in 1911, cannot be sold to raise money for cultural programmes. The Boston Museum of Fine Art, which holds the paintings, has fought efforts to sell them.
