WASHINGTON - Iraq may again be moving anti-aircraft missile systems into the no-fly zones in spite of its protests that it is sticking to its ceasefire pledge, the new US Secretary of Defense, Les Aspin, warned yesterday, writes David Usborne.

Mr Aspin said: 'There is some indication (of such deployment). One of the things that we need to be watching over the next couple of days is the placement of those missiles.'

He said he did not believe President Saddam himself would ever bend to full compliance with UN resolutions. 'I think that in order to get those UN resolutions, Saddam Hussein has to go,' Mr Aspin said.
