Senator John Kerry yesterday reported 'very special Vietnamese efforts' to help the US resolve the fate of more than 2,000 servicemen listed as missing from the Vietnam War, Reuter reports from Hanoi.

After two days of talks to assess the process of accounting for US missing-in-action and prisoners-of- war, Mr Kerry said he would report privately to President Bill Clinton on the degree of Vietnamese co-operation. But he refused to say whether he would recommend Mr Clinton to ease or lift the economic embargo Washington has enforced against Hanoi since 1964.
