Vietnam president to visit US

Hanoi - Vietnam disclosed that head of state President Le Duc Anh will visit the US in October, becoming the most senior Hanoi official to set foot on US soil since the Vietnam war. Mr Anh, who ranks second to the Communist Party General Secretary Do Muoi in the Hanoi hierarchy, will attend ceremonies marking the 50th anniversary of the United Nations in New York. Reuter
