The country music star Tammy Wynette, best known for her song 'Stand by Your Man', was fighting for her life yesterday after being rushed into hospital, AFP reports from Nashville. Wynette was admitted to the Baptist Hospital on Tuesday with a major infection and was in intensive care. Her condition was listed as critical.
