There were colourful scenes in Belfair, Washington after a man crashed a car containing several gallons of paint, leaving himself and his pet dog covered in a variety of different shades.

The vehicle was carrying a number of five-gallon tins of latex paint and travelling along a state highway when the driver lost control of the car and crashed.

Emergency services arrived to find the man and his dog drenched in paint, the driver was taken to hospital to be treated for minor injuries, while his canine companion was cleaned up and taken to a humane society.
