Zaire's transitional parliament elected the centrist opposition candidate, Kengo Wa Dondo, as prime minister, ending a five-month power vacuum, Reuter reports from Kinshasa. Mr Kengo, who has held the post twice before, won 332 of the 461 votes cast, against 78 for the former prime minister, Mulumba Lukoji.
