Gardening / Cuttings: Hamilton's herbs as seen on TV
Gardeners' World, the television programme, is 25 years old this year. For more than half that time it has been presented by the reassuring Geoff Hamilton, the only presenter of gardening programmes who can handle a spade with conviction. He has planted two herb gardens in his five-and-a-half acres at Barnsdale, Northamptonshire.
In next week's edition of the programme (Friday, 8.30pm on BBC 2) he starts a series on herbs and herb gardens with a visit to the grand herb garden at Hintlesham Hall, near Ipswich in Suffolk.
