THE Northern Horticultural Society has just published its programme of events based at the Harlow Carr Botanical Gardens, Crag Lane, Harrogate. There are day courses on pruning, plants for winter interest and photography (fee, non-members pounds 19) and much longer courses on a wide range of subjects such as plant appreciation ( pounds 200 for 10 lessons, beginning 8 October) and garden design ( pounds 70 for 10 lessons, beginning 18 September).
