'COMMERCIAL priority' is the reason Jacksons of Piccadilly gives for pulling out of its sponsorship deal with the National Council for the Conservation of Plants and Gardens. For the last two years, the cash from Jacksons has paid for the NCCPG directory which lists nearly 600 special plant collections throughout the country, almost all of which can be visited by enthusiasts. Fairy godmothers should get in touch with the NCCPG's general secretary, Tony Lowe, at The Pines, Wisley Garden, Woking, Surrey GU23 6QB.
