It is encouraging to hear that the Living Over The Shop initiative launched five years ago is a success. More than 4,000 people around the country have been housed through the Lots scheme which encourages landlords to convert the wasted space above shops into new flats. Lots offers a lease arrangement which frees the owner from management responsibility.
