BUYERS are spoilt for choice among discounts from housebuilders, but not everyone wants a brand new home. Barratt aims to fill this gap by extending its 8.5 per cent fixed-rate mortgage offer to the thousands of houses taken in part-exchange and renovated each year. Other incentives include furniture worth up to pounds 3,000 and free redundancy protection on many sites. Wimpey is offering to refund a 10th of the purchase price a year after buyers have moved in.
