Ron Arad and Katherine Hamnett to speak at London's Barbican

Coinciding with Ron Arad's Restless exhibit at London's Barbican gallery, the Israeli designer, as well as architect and fashion designer Katharine Hamnett, will be present March 4 to fill the audience in on what makes and what breaks a designer.

Part of the Barbican's Design by Decades series, the event covering the 1980s under the name From Readymades to Industrial Production, will also feature Rolf Fehlbaum, a design trendspotter and chairman of German furniture brand, Vitra.

The three of them will be joined by the director of London's Design Museum, Deyan Sudjic, who will bring Arad and Hamnett to "discuss how they made their names in the fast-changing London design scene of the 1980s," according to the organizers.

From Readymades to Industrial Production starts at 7pm. Tickets are £15 (€16.50) online or £17 (€18.70) at the door (concessions: £14 ( €15.40)online/£15 (€16.50) full price).

Upcoming Design by Decades talks at the Barbican will feature the 1990s: Design Goes Glossy, Design Goes Global on April 8 and the 2000s: Design vs Art on April 29.
