The top 10 decorative turn-offs for homehunters (and top 10 turn-ons)
Woodchip wallpaper, mirrored ceilings and nude portraits are the top decorative dealbreakers for prospective buyers, suggests a new report.

Two thirds of potential buyers told property website NeedaProperty.com that they would offer less than the asking price if a property had many turn-offs and more than a third would simply not make an offer at all.
The top 10 (percentage of people who find it a turnoff in brackets) are:
1. Woodchip wallpaper (39%)
2. Mirrored ceilings (36%)
3. Nude portraits (35%)
4. Avocado bathroom suite (31%)
5. Taxidermy (24%)
6. 1980s paint effects (stencilling, rag-rolling etc) (20%)
7. Strip lighting (17%)
8. Artex ceiling (16%)
9. Themed rooms (12%)
10. Hot tub (11%)
The results also show that two thirds still associate the presence of pampas grass with swingers and that a red front door is the most attractive colour.
The top 10 turn-ons were:
1. Fitted kitchen (36%)
2. Granite kitchen surfaces (31%)
3. Wooden floors (23%)
4. Wood burning stove (22%)
5. Concealed appliances (21%)
6. Neutral colour scheme (20%)
7. American fridge-freezer (19%)
8. Aga / range cooker (18%)
9. Heated towel rails (16%)
10 Roll top bath (15%)
