49ers upset by Green Bay

The San Francisco 49ers, the reigning Super Bowl holders, were upset at home, 27-17, by the Green Bay Packers in the NFC divisional game on Saturday. The Packers took a 21-3 lead into half-time and were never challenged. They now go to Dallas after the Cowboys' comfortable 30-11 win over the Philadlephia Eagles yesterday.

In Saturday's other game the Pittsburgh Steelers overcame a determined Buffalo Bills, 40-21, to advance to their second successive AFC championship game. They took a commanding 23-7 lead by half-time but were pulled back to26-21 before Bam Morris secured the win with two touchdowns.
