The Aga Khan's long-awaited return to the British Classics is to be spearheaded by a close relative of Shergar, the Aga's 1981 Derby winner.
The Aga will confirm his intention to renew his involvement in British racing for the first time since 1990 by spending £6,000 in engaging the John Oxx-trained Shemaran at the Derby's second entry stage on Wednesday. The colt finished runner-up on his only start at The Curragh.
n Thursday's meeting at Carlisle is in doubt due to waterlogging. The course will be inspected at 4pm today.
