Great Britain will field a new-look team in the world cross-country championships at Durham on 25 March whatever happens in their trials at Druridge Park, Northumberland tomorrow. Out are the old guard such as Eamonn Martin, Richard Nerurkar and Dave Lewis, who between then have won eight national titles. Martin and Nerurkar are preparing for marathons, while Lewis prefers to concentrate on an attempt for a fourth national victory the following weekend.
Steve Tunstall, trials winner for the last two years, is taking time off to sort out a mystery illness.
