Athletics: Frankie Fredericks records second fastest 100 metres on African soil
Frankie Fredericks, the Namibian Olympic silver medallist, ran the second fastest 100 metres on African soil yesterday when he posted 9.99sec in the first leg of the Engen Grand Prix Summer Series.
The world half-marathon champions, Stefano Baldini, of Italy, and China's Xiujuan Ren, will compete in the London Marathon next month. Russia's Yakov Tolstikov, the 1991 men's winner, will also contest the race on 13 April.
