KIP KEINO will return to Edinburgh to run in the Standard Life Princes Street Mile this September, 24 years after winning a gold medal at the Commonwealth Games in the Scottish capital.
The Kenyan Keino, now 54, is one of several former track greats, including Filbert Bayi, of Tanzania, invited to compete in the 'Legends Mile', one of seven races comprising this year's Princes Street event. Keino won gold in the 1500 metres and bronze in the 5,000m in Edinburgh.
England's Matthew Yates and Ireland's Sonia O'Sullivan will defend their titles in the main events while there will be other races for juniors and international men's and women's wheelchair competitors.
