Liz McColgan will attempt a record-breaking fourth victory in this year's Bupa Great North Run on 14 September. McColgan, is in training for next month's Flora London Marathon.

International athletics chiefs are to push for a cut in compulsory doping bans from four to two years. The rules have already been abandoned in Germany because of legal problems.
