Merlene Ottey, the Jamaican sprinter who has won an unrivalled 34 major championship medals, will run the 60 metres at the Bupa indoor grand prix in Birmingham on 23 February.

Sweden's Ludmila Enquist set a women's 100m hurdles indoor world record of 12.64 seconds at an international meeting in Tampere, Finland, last night.
