Great Britain's Michelle Rogers endured a tearful exit from the heavyweight competition, being beaten by a penalty point for the second time in less than two hours. The 20-year-old from Swinton lost her repechage match against Germany's former world champion Johanna Hagn and sobbed on the mat in despair. Rogers was penalised for not showing enough aggression in a second round fight against the Chinese girl Fuming Sun. Sun went on to win the gold medal. It was also a disappointing day for the defending men's heavyweight champion, David Khakhaleichvili, who was disqualified for failing to show up for the weigh-in.
