Ken Jones of The Independent was honoured at the British Sports Journalism Awards in London last night. Jones, who joined The Independent as Chief Sports Writer on the newspaper's launch 11 years ago, received the Doug Gardner Award "for outstanding contribution to sports journalism" made by a member of the Sports Writers' Association.
