Darren Hall overcame his closest rival, Anders Nielsen, to win the fifth tournament on the British Grand Prix circuit in Portsmouth yesterday, writes James Leigh. The Essex man saved a game-point in the first game before going on to win 18-15, 15-7 and take the Friends Provident Hampshire Open title. The women's No 1, Joanne Muggeridge, went down 1-11, 11-1, 11-7 in the singles final to Suzanne Louis-Lane.
