Mickey Mantle's medical condition has been downgraded from stable to serious. The 63-year-old slugger has been receiving treatment for anemia, brought on by chemotherapy, at Baylor University Medical Center and on Wednesday doctors issued a statement saying CT scans had revealed that Mantle's cancer has spread, but would not be more specific.
