Basketball: Leopards and Bullets on song
GREATER London Leopards and Birmingham Bullets maintained their momentum in the Budweiser League title race last night, while Derby Storm's play- off prospects improved with a 73-71 win over Thames Valley Tigers, writes Richard Taylor.
Eric Burkes, with 37 points, led Leopards to a 96-84 win at Watford Royals, and Reggie Kirk scored 22 points in Birmingham's 88-73 win at Manchester Giants, keeping them two points behind the leaders, Leopards.
Ted Berry's basket 70 seconds from time clinched Derby's win over Thames Valley, but London Towers suffered another shock defeat, 87-84 at Crystal Palace.
