THAMES VALLEY TIGERS closed on the Budweiser League leaders with a 90-73 win over Worthing Bears on Saturday, writes Duncan Hooper.
Leicester City Riders, meanwhile, drew a line below the eight hopeful play-off qualifiers with an outstanding win over Guildford Kings. The Tigers are two points behind the Bears and four points behind Manchester Giants, who they visit on Wednesday, with two games in hand.
Neither of Worthing's Americans, Herman Harried and Cleave Lewis, reached double figures, whereas Thames Valley's stateside import, Tony Holley, led their scorers with 27 points.
Leicester trailed Guildford by nine points in the third quarter, but Gene Waldron and Dillon Bogg shot them back into the lead at 61-60.
