Nigel Benn will make the ninth defence of his World Council super- middleweight title against Steve Little, of America, Wembley Stadium on 2 September.

It will be Benn's second defence in the space of 42 days after stopping Vincenzo Nardiello, of Italy, at the London Arena last month.

Benn's fight is on the same card as Frank Bruno's fourth attempt to win a world heavyweight title, against Oliver McCall, the World Council champion.

Little is a former holder of the World Association version of the 12-stone title, winning it as the underdog against Michael Nunn in February last year. But Little did not have long to capitalise on his surprise win, and lost his crown to the current holder, Frankie Liles.
