Thursday: Showjumper Malcolm Pyrah, twice winner of the King George V Gold Cup at Wembley (1941).

Friday: Don Bradman, one of the all time great cricketers, with 6,996 Test runs to his name in 52 matches, at a record average of 99.94 per innings (1908.) John Lloyd, British tennis player who won two mixed doubles titles at Wimbledon, with the Australian Wendy Turnbull (1954).

Saturday: Emlyn Hughes, the former Liverpool, England and Question of Sport captain, who famously fawned over the Princess Royal (1947).
