Joshua Buatsi knocked out Daniel Blenda Dos Santos in the fourth round to retain his WBA international light-heavyweight title with a clinical display at Manchester Arena.

The British 2016 Olympic bronze medallist had stopped Marko Calic in October, during which he suffered an eye injury, and was back in action for the first time since linking up with trainer Virgil Hunter.

The 28-year-old had earlier put Frenchman Dos Santos down in the second following a flurry of strong right-hand shots.

Dos Santos, previously undefeated in 15 fights, tried to respond during the third round and bundled Buatsi over, but the British fighter was soon up on his feet.

Buatsi delivered another brutal right-hand blow in the fourth round which put Dos Santos straight down to the canvas, landing face first.

The Frenchman received swift medical attention before being helped back into his corner, as Buatsi extended his perfect record to 14 fights, with 12 victories coming by knockout.
