Manny Pacquiao may be a master in the ring but he's also well acquainted with the recording studio: he released an album back in 2006 and his cover of "Sometimes When We Touch" reached the US charts in 2011.

For some, therefore, it came as no surprise when the 36-year-old Filipino boxer announced in February that we would be singing his own entrance music for the much-anticipated fight with Floyd Mayweather Jnr on May 2.

Now, with just a few weeks to go before the richest fight in history, Pacquiao has released his song "Lalaban Ako Para Sa Filipino", meaning "I Fight for the Filipino People".

Not that the video will strike strike much fear in the undefeated Mayweather; the video is intended as a tribute to his fans back home and the struggle many suffered following the devastation of Typhoon Haiyan. It was one of the deadliest typhoons in history and killed some 6,300 people in Pacquiao's country in 2013.

The video shows various clips of Pacquiao's fights.

The lyrics say: "We are going to fight / I am going to fight to the world / Fight for your name / I am Filipino / We are Filipino".

Pacquiao is joined by many of his fans in the video.

Pacquiao and Mayweather will meet at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on 2 May in what will be the biggest fight ever seen in the sport in terms of the prize money on offer. A reported £170m-minimum purse will be up for grabs as two of the greatest boxers the sport has ever seen will seek to unify the welterweight division.

There are many scenes of the devastation caused by Typhoon Haiyan in November 2013.
