Sergey Kovalev and Andre Ward will finally meet each other in the ring this weekend, in what is perhaps boxing's most hotly-anticipated fight of the year.

Both sit inside The Ring’s top five pound-for-pound fighters, ranked second and fourth respectively, and whoever emerges from Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena victorious will have a strong claim to being the world’s best.

Kovalev, a bombastic knock-out puncher, will be risking his three world light heavyweight titles, while Ward's ring intelligence saw off all-comers at 168lbs. Both men are unbeaten.

Kovalev: "For me, each fight is like a street fight as just like on the street you never really know what an opponent is going to do. If I get this win then I might be considered the pound-for-pound number one, but I'm not thinking about it - that is simply a bonus."

Ward: "He is a big bully and he talks a good game. He tries to intimidate with 'he does this, I am going to do that'. Well, do it, and then see what happens. For every action that he has in there, [there] is going to be a reaction and he just needs to understand that.”
