Frank Warren has "guaranteed" Tyson Fury will reclaim the world heavyweight title after dismissing suggestions he has retired.

The 28-year-old sparked speculation surrounding his future when, not for the first time, he appeared to announce the end of his career by writing on social media he had reached “the end”.

“Thanks to all the fans that supported and believed in me along the way," he also wrote. "Hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.”

He continued the claims on Thursday night, posting a picture of himself on Twitter captioned: “Enjoying my retirement”.

However Warren, who had planned to promote Fury's return to the ring earlier this month until the postponement of his hearing following his charge with the alleged use of a prohibited substance by UK Anti-Doping (UKAD), believes he will fight on.

Warren has spoken to Fury's trainer and uncle Peter about the heavyweight's comments, and said: “He's guaranteed to win these titles back. He's a fighting man.

“They're fighting UKAD. If he was going to retire what's the point in fighting UKAD? You might as well say 'Forget it, I'm done'.

“Peter said there's no problem. We're waiting (on the new date for the hearing): I want to see him back in the ring.

“I hope that's the case (that Fury's again being mischievous): that's what I'm told.”

The National Anti-Doping Panel was due to rule on allegations Fury and his cousin and fellow heavyweight Hughie Fury tested positive for nandrolone in 2015.

Hughie, 22, has since secured a September 23 date at the Manchester Arena to challenge defending champion Joseph Parker for the WBO title Tyson once held.

Tyson Fury also won the IBF and WBA titles in his past fight, against Wladimir Klitschko in November 2015. Having vacated them to concentrate on his battle against depression, he also showed his frustration that Hughie and Peter were pictured at the gym of his rival, David Haye, when he wrote: “Can't believe you're both in that p****'s gym.”

“I hope and don't believe that there's a problem,” Warren said. “Peter Fury would never do anything against Tyson; he's his uncle and has got his best interests at heart. Hughie was down there (at Haye's gym) sparring with Joe Joyce.

“Boxing misses him. He's a character; more importantly he can fight, and he's missing boxing. He would miss boxing; it'd be a tragedy if he wasn't to fight again because he's got a lot still to give.”
