Hilton Ruggles scored three times to lead Cardiff Devils, the title holders, to a 9-5 victory over Fife Flyers at Wembley Arena yesterday in the British championship semi-finals, writes Steve Pinder. Devils effectively won the match in the first period, which opened with Ruggles scoring after 10 seconds. That seemed to unnerve Fife, who ended the period 6-3 down. In the final, Devils meet Sheffield Steelers, who beat Nottingham Panthers 8-0 with four goals by Les Millie.
