Briefly: Slough lower Hightown's colours: Hockey

Slough won the AEWHA Cup on penalty strokes at Milton Keynes, gaining revenge for their defeat by Hightown in the final two years ago, also on penalty strokes, writes Brian Tatlock. In three years of this competition Slough have yet to lose a match, but that record looked in danger when Hightown dominated the opening stages, with their central midfield duo of Fiona Lee and Chris Cook in commanding form. There were early chances for Tina Cullen, who shot wide, and Maggie Souyave, who produced a good save from Sue Knight. Two minutes before the interval a sweeping move down the Slough right wing, involving Kate White and Sam Wright, led to their sweeper, Sue Chandler, putting Slough ahead. Despite losing both Debbie Mills and Lee through injury, Hightown equalised when Lorraine Marsden rifled in their second and last penalty corner 11 minutes after half-time.
