ROUND-UP
The runs continued to flow as the sun continued to shine yesterday, but on a day made for flat-track bullies, the biggest bully of them all - Graeme Hick - scored only seven at Scarborough as Worcestershire set off in the wake of Yorkshire's 600 for 4 declared.
David Byas carried on to a career-best 213, facing 376 balls and hitting 27 fours, and Craig White chipped in with an unbeaten 107 as the pair added 207. The visitors trail by the small matter of 412, but have Tom Moody (63) and Tim Curtis (51) at the crease.
It is even worse for Hampshire who, at 148 for 3, are 514 behind Essex at Chelmsford. Essex's 662 for 7 declared is the highest first-class score this season. At Canterbury, Surrey have let the opposition off the hook in comparison. Their lead is 405 as Kent struggled to 154 for 4.
The Under-19 international at Worcester is a more even encounter. After dismissing South Africa for 311, England reached 324 for 7 thanks to 88 from Marcus Trescothick and 75 from Anthony McGrath.
