Accountant Richard Wright, a lifelong Castleford fan, has been appointed as the Super League club's first full-time chief executive. He has been Castleford's finance director for the past 12 months.

The Western Samoan player Fata Sini has left Salford to return to union with the Welsh side, Llanelli.

The Super League club, Halifax, yesterday announced a record sponsorship deal with Computacentre which will earn them more than pounds 275,000 up to 1998.
