Following approval by the Commonwealth Games Federation, all of the planned venues for the October 3-14 Commonwealth Games in India have been declared fit for purpose, after the initial completion deadline had been missed.

Eleven arenas and sports complexes in the Indian capital, Delhi, will be used to accommodate competitors from 72 participating nations across 17 disciplines including the popular Indian pursuits of badminton, field hockey, squash, and tennis.

Cricket did not make the final cut, though there are several international matches in the country throughout October. India will engage Australia in a series of test matches and One Day Internationals in Mohali (October 1), Bangalore (October 9), Kochi (October 17), Vishakhapatnam (October 20) and Margao (October 24).

Tickets for the XIX Commonwealth Games are available from branches of the Central Bank of India and Hero Honda within Delhi's metropolitan area, by arrangement with the Commonwealth Games Ticketing call center, or via the Games' official website.

The website also details local ticketing agencies for 32 of the participating countries including the UK, Canada, South Africa, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand.

A seat at the Games' Opening Ceremony is between 1,000 and 50,000 Indian Rupees (€17 - €840),
with tickets for all but the Closing Ceremony's most exclusive tier costing 20-25 percent less, from 750Rs (€13) upwards.

Admission to other events start at 50Rs (€0.85) and generally top out at 1000Rs (€17) for premier seats at the finals. Some, such as cycling's road race finals, the marathon, and the first Greco-Roman wrestling bouts are free of charge.
