Russell Coutts, New Zealand's winning America's Cup skipper, was yesterday named Sperry World Sailor of the Year, in succession to his San Diego syndicate chief, Sir Peter Blake. France's Isabelle Autissier won the women's award for her record first leg in the single-handed BOC Round the World race.
