The West Indian all-rounder Winston Benjamin has announced his retirement from first-class cricket after admitting defeat to a shoulder injury suffered while playing for Hampshire against Warwickshire earlier this season.

Tony Pigott, the former Sussex seamer, has retired from first-class cricket at the age of 38 because of injury.
