Cricket: Aamir steadies Pakistan after early dismissals
West Indies 303 Pakistan 1
Aamir Sohail's unbeaten 62 helped Pakistan recover from the loss of two early wickets in the second Test against the West Indies in Rawalpindi yesterday.
Saeed Anwar edged to wicketkeeper David Williams off Curtly Ambrose and Ijaz Ahmed flashed wildly to a delivery from Franklyn Rose just before tea and Philo Wallace took the catch at third man.
When poor light ended play 14 overs early, Saeed had put on 58 for the third wicket with Inzamam-ul-Haq, who was on 20.
West Indies' 303 was mainly due to Shivnarine Chanderpaul, who fell five runs short of a century, and Sherwin Campbell.
Chanderpaul was trapped lbw for 95 by Waqar Younis and Sherwin Campbell made 78 in a stand worth 147.
