Cricket: Atherton leads England back into the firing line
Middle man: The England captain Mike Atherton (above) deals with a delivery from Trinidad and Tobago's Nigel Francis in Pointe-a-Pierre, Trinidad yesterday. Playing for the first time since the first Test in Jamaica was abandoned on Thursday, Atherton made 61, while his opening partner Alec Stewart (right) hit 73 in a first wicket partnership of 131. The match at Guaracara Park was played against the imposing backdrop of the Petrotrin oil refinery.
