Cricket: Dawson's career best
RAIN dominated much of yesterday's proceedings with Colchester and Eastbourne limited to just 20.5 overs between them while Lord's was completely washed out. All the other games were affected to some degree but two young Gloucestershire batsmen will remember an otherwise forgettable day. Bobby Dawson (93) and Matt Windows (77) made their highest Championship scores.
Martyn Moxon, returning from injury, propped up the Yorkshire innings against Lancashire with an unbeaten 62. David Byas's 40 made him the first Yorkshire player to reach 1,000 runs this season.
